About Chad

Born and raised in Hawaii, Chad has always loved drawing and painting. His career started early. As a boy, he attended the Honolulu Academy of Arts and studied art in high school and at the University of Hawaii.

With passion, respect and admiration for all forms of art, Chad's interest with the airbrush medium began rather innocently about 20 years ago. After watching someone airbrush a T-shirt and being really impressed, Chad purchased some airbrush equipment to satisfy this personal appetite for knowledge of this art form. He quickly embraced its complexity. "I fell in love not only with the outcome, but with the journey itself." Chad quickly grasped numerous techniques and began to create beautiful artwork.

Humbled by his self-discovery, Chad set out to explore his newfound talent. His ostentatious beginnings found him in Waikiki, airbrushing T-shirts on the sidewalk for tourists. Soon Chad began to spray everything in sight, from jackets, helmets, trucks and wall murals.

Chad has done many one man art shows and has several requests for paintings in hotels, coffee shops and restaurants. On occasion, when a friend or former customer would come by his studio, he has had offers to purchase incomplete works. "I've always found that most interesting — a piece that you don't feel is quite done, or that you're not satisfied with, finds a home with someone who just happens to see it and likes it just the way it is."

"I realize that in the art world, there seems to be infinite possibilities of what can be done. So many combinations of color, mediums and composition, make art an exciting and interesting journey." Although Chad has experimented with all sorts of mediums, his favorites include airbrushing t-shirts and canvases as well as pencil drawings.

Chad playing squashChad is an avid squash player. He became the 2006 state champion in February of 2006 (read the article in the Honolulu Advertiser). Other hobbies include biking, swimming, and table tennis. He also practices Kung Fu, Jiu-jitsu, and boxing.

When not painting, Chad spends his time with his best friend (his beautiful wife) and their twin sons. His motto: "GOD first, family next, everything else will fall into place."
